GASTRONOMIC WEEKENDS

Our gastronomic weekends are designed to give you an exclusive taste of hidden Charente. You will get the chance to discover seasonal regional specialities including the renowned creamy butter and goats' cheeses, duck, rillettes, fish and seafood. You will enjoy the sights and smells of a bustling food market and visit artisan food producers not normally open to tourists. Each course will be for 2-4 people so can be tailor made for you. Accommodation is in our chambre d'hote with it's own entrance or a large double room with balcony and shower room.

If you would like to offer a gastronomic weekend as a gift we can supply a voucher. A wonderful present for a food loving partner, parents or special friend.

SUGGESTED PROGRAMME

FRIDAY

Arrival mid afternoon for tea and home made cake
3 course dinner with wine

SATURDAY

Escorted visit to Les Halles market in nearby Angouleme. You will have time to wander round this fascinating old city, then home for a market lunch.
Afternoon escorted visit to local artisan food producers
Evening out at restaurant of your choice. (Cost not included)

SUNDAY

Morning at leisure. Canoes and bikes are at your disposal or we can arrange a shiatsu massage for you. Packed lunch or picnic lunch by the river.
In the afternoon there will be a 2 hour dinner demo of some of the dishes that will be on the menu in the evening.
7pm Help yourself to aperos tray, then candlelit Grand Diner in the salon
